Studies and clinical research
A particular focus of Interdisciplinary Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (IGE) is the evaluation and further development of new endoscopic procedures, techniques and devices as part of clinical studies. There is close cooperation here with other clinics in Germany and abroad, various specialist departments at Freiburg University Hospital and with manufacturers of medical devices.
The IGE participates in studies initiated by other clinics, but also designs and manages its own mono- and multicenter study projects. PD Dr. Armin Küllmer is the scientific director in the field of endoscopy.
