Nursing care in psychiatry

Participation requirements

According to the further training regulations, there are two requirements for admission to the further training course in psychiatric nursing care:

  • Permission according to § 1 para. 1 no. 1 or 2 of the Nursing Act (KrPflG) of June 4, 1985 (BGBl. I p. 893) or the certificate of successful completion of the state examination to become a geriatric nurse or a curative education nurse.
  • Relevant professional activity after completion of the training, which should be two years, at least one year of which should be in psychiatric nursing care.

Participants are expected to complete practical advanced training in various psychiatric facilities. Dealing with and integrating theoretical knowledge is an essential part of advanced training. A willingness to reflect on one's own work in the field of psychiatry and the personal process of advanced training is essential.

  • Cover letter
  • Curriculum vitae in tabular form and details of previous education and professional experience
  • Certificate of nursing training
  • Permission to use the professional title in accordance with § 1 of the Nursing Professions Act

  • In addition to the documents listed under "Internal applications", please enclose proof that the costs will be covered by the employing clinic.
