Pregnancy, maternity leave, parental leave
The Equal Opportunities Officer is available to advise you on all questions relating to pregnancy, maternity leave, and parental leave. As soon as you find out you are pregnant, make an appointment to discuss and plan occupational safety during pregnancy, your parental leave, and your return to work.
Occupational safety during pregnancy
Certain activities are prohibited during pregnancy to protect your unborn child. We will clarify whether appropriate protective measures are necessary in your case.Maternity leave and vacation entitlement
As a rule, maternity leave begins six weeks before your child's due date and ends eight weeks after the birth.

The period of maternity leave is included in your vacation entitlement. The Business Unit for Human Resources will inform you about the vacation you are entitled to.
Parental allowance
You are entitled to basic parental allowance during the first year of your child's life. This entitlement can be extended to 14 months by taking two so-called partner months.
You also have the option of applying for Parental Allowance Plus. This extends your entitlement to parental allowance if you and your partner work part-time. Find out more about parental allowance here.
Parental leave
Parental leave begins for mothers after maternity leave at the earliest, and for fathers after the birth. You are entitled to three years of parental leave for each child, which ends when your child reaches the age of three. During parental leave, you are allowed to work up to 30 hours per week.
You must notify your employer of your parental leave at least seven weeks before it begins. You are fully protected against dismissal during parental leave.
