Projects
With a focus on dementia and other neurodegenerative disorders we employ pattern recognition methods with the ability to detect a disease specific pattern of brain changes by structural MRI. These techniques can be used to support physicians outside specialized centers (see Automated Diagnosing for the clinical routine).
To learn how to modulate cognitive functions in neurodegeneration, we study non-invasive brain stimulation techniques in mild cognitive impairment and mild Alzheimer's disease (see NIBS in MCI/AD).
To distinguish disease specific correlates from those that generalize across disorders, we will apply uni- and multivariate methods on large databases of Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease patients (see Correlates of cognitive and psychiatric symptoms).
