Gender Equality

All participating organisations involved in SPP2177 are strongly committed to equal treatment, employment and career opportunities for men and women by implementing gender equality policies that are fully in sync with the Research-Oriented Standards on Gender Equality of the DFG.

All numbers of gender relevant actions, e.g., recruiting, invited guest scientists, career plans of female scientists, etc. will be monitored. Based on this monitoring the PP board will decide on additional measures required to achieve gender equality.

At Freiburg the coordinator will be supported by the Gender Equality Office of the Faculty of Medicine. The office is staffed with a dedicated, scientific employee as a personal assistant (PA) to the Equal Opportunity Officer, a female full professor. The PA leads the EIRA mentoring programme and training workshops, places the Equal Opportunity Officer representatives in the selection committees for professorships, helps provide child care facilities and maintains important networks and career contacts.
