Patients are referred to the general university outpatient clinic by general practitioners, in particular by neurologists or by social psychiatric services/partial inpatient institutions for diagnostics, differential diagnostics and/or treatment. Secondly, our outpatient clinic treats emergencies that are presented by the various emergency services, the police, etc. or that come in themselves. Outside of outpatient service hours, the doctor on duty and the senior physician take over emergency care in the background, which is thus guaranteed without interruption.

Our department consists of various specific clinics, e.g. the Clinic for General Medicine and the Clinic for Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine. This offers you a broad spectrum of nursing activities - we would be happy to introduce ourselves!
Our specially trained healthcare and pediatric nurses take into account the developmental characteristics of premature babies and newborns, small children and schoolchildren, as well as adolescents. They have the specific skills, knowledge and abilities that are important in pediatric and adolescent medicine. Almost all of the nurses working here are three-year qualified pediatric nurses. Many nurses also have further specialist training. In addition to regular nursing and medical training, the professional expertise of our employees is continuously reviewed and developed by a nursing expert.
We respond to the individual needs of our young and adolescent patients and care for them in the event of acute and chronic illnesses. However, we are also there for the family and their questions, providing guidance, advice and support. Pediatric nursing works closely with other professional groups such as paediatricians, psychologists, teachers, physiotherapists and educators in order to provide our patients with holistic care.
We are your partner for the treatment of a wide range of childhood and adolescent illnesses - whether it is an acute emergency 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, a chronic illness or unclear complaints that have not yet been diagnosed.
We offer you child-friendly care based on the latest medical knowledge with the shortest possible inpatient stay and sustainable structures for day-care and outpatient follow-up care. We provide our patients with holistic care together with their parents and our team of doctors, pediatric nurses, psychologists and educators.

We care for children and adolescents with injuries, deformities or illnesses that affect the brain, nerves or muscles.
In addition to treating acute illnesses that can heal completely, it is our job to identify and optimally treat developmental disorders and chronic illnesses in children and adolescents. Patients and families are cared for in the Neuropaediatric Outpatient Clinic with the Social Paediatric Centre or as part of an inpatient stay. An interdisciplinary team of highly qualified staff is at your disposal for these tasks.

We treat more than 4,000 children, adolescents and young adults with congenital heart defects in our outpatient and inpatient departments every year. It is important to us to offer each patient a therapy that is tailored to their clinical picture and that utilizes the possibilities of medicine and scientific findings. At the same time, we want to create a personal, open environment for our patients and their parents that supports the recovery process. Intensive consultations are just as much a part of this as the admission of a parent for smaller children who are receiving inpatient care, or accommodation in the neighboring parents' house.

We treat children and adolescents with benign and malignant blood diseases and tumors on an outpatient and inpatient basis. The focus is on comprehensive care for our patients, with doctors from various specialist disciplines working closely together with nurses and other specialists, but especially with parents.
After a detailed diagnosis, which may include a tissue examination in addition to modern imaging techniques (ultrasound, X-ray, MRI, scintigraphy), a treatment plan is drawn up across all disciplines. Our clinic has extensive experience in bone marrow and blood stem cell transplants. Depending on the type of disease, the patient's own stem cells (autologous transplantation) or those of another person (allogeneic transplantation) are used.
