Workshop: Diversity in Academia

Academic research has long been shaped by people with diverse backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences. At the same time, diversity and inclusion are receiving increasing attention in academia, driven by changing working environments, international research collaborations, and growing expectations from research funders to actively address diversity within research groups.

This online workshop provides an introduction to diversity in the academic context. Through practical examples and case studies, participants will explore different aspects of working with diverse teams, including both the opportunities and potential challenges that diversity can bring. A particular focus will be placed on diversity-sensitive leadership and on how greater awareness can contribute to more inclusive collaboration in research and administration.

The workshop also provides an opportunity for self-reflection, while offering practical ideas that can be transferred to everyday academic work.

A short additional session will focus on diversity and AI.
