Ab 1. Juni 2021 wird die Zugänglichkeit zu Ihrem persönlichen Nutzerkonto bei NCBI/PubMed auf „federated account credentials“ umgestellt werden. Die Authentifizierung wird dann nicht mehr direkt mittels Nutzerkennung und Passwort bei NCBI/PubMed erfolgen, sondern ausschließlich über eine Einwahl via z.B. Google, eRA Commons, ORCID oder am neuen Verfahren teilnehmenden Institutionen möglich sein.
Sie können überprüfen, ob Ihr Konto von NCBI direkt oder bereits jetzt über Anmeldeinformationen eines Drittanbieters verwaltet wird. Melden Sie sich dazu wie gewohnt bei Ihrem NCBI-Konto an. Klicken Sie dann auf Ihren Benutzernamen (obere rechte Ecke) und prüfen, was in Ihrem Profil in den Feldern „Native NCBI Account“ und „Linked Accounts“ aufgeführt ist. Wenn Sie nur Kontoinformationen im Feld „Native NCBI-Konto“ sehen, verfügen Sie über ein von NCBI direkt verwaltetes Konto und müssen Ihr NCBI/PubMed-Konto spätestens bis 1. Juni mit einem der von NCBI angebotenen Tools verknüpfen. Weitere Informationen und Anleitungen finden Sie hier.
Eine praktikable und sichere Lösung ist die Login-Möglichkeit über Ihre ORCiD. Zur Verknüpfung beider Konten öffnen Sie zunächst Ihr ORCiD Konto und erst danach wie gewohnt Ihr NCBI/PubMed Account um die entsprechenden Änderungen vorzunehmen. Bei der nächsten Einwahl in Ihr NCBI/PubMed Konto findet sich ORCiD in der von NCBI/PubMed angebotenen Liste der Einwahl-Tools oder unter "more login options".
Aus Datenschutzgründen ist nicht geplant ein institutionelles Login für PubMed über „myLogin Freiburg“ einzurichten.

As of June 1, 2021, accessibility to your personal user account at NCBI/PubMed will be changed to "federated account credentials". Authentication will no longer be possible directly via user ID and password at NCBI/PubMed, but exclusively by two factor authentication via e.g. Google, eRA Commons, ORCID or institutions participating in the new procedure.
You can check whether your account is managed by NCBI directly or already by third-party credentials. To do so, log in to your NCBI account as usual. Then click on your username (upper right corner) and check the "Native NCBI Account" and "Linked Accounts" fields. If you only see account information in the "Native NCBI Account" field, you have an account managed directly by NCBI and must link your NCBI/PubMed account to one of the tools offered by NCBI no later than June 1. A viable and secure solution is to log in via your ORCiD. To do so, open your NCBI/PubMed account with Your "Native NCBI Account" credentials as usual and make the appropriate changes in the "Linked Accounts" field. The next time you login to your NCBI/PubMed account, ORCiD will be found in the list of login options offered by NCBI/PubMed or under "more login options".
For data protection reasons, there are no plans to set up an institutional login for PubMed via "myLogin Freiburg".
