Description:
The elective course takes place in small groups. True to the motto “What is common is common,” relevant clinical presentations in primary care are addressed in a practical manner. Before each in-person session, participants receive a case history and background information on the respective “patient.” The students’ task is first to prepare independently for all treatment-relevant aspects of the suspected diagnosis(es) in question, including differential diagnoses if applicable. During the in-person session, the respective patient’s problem is then discussed under the guidance of an instructor. Aspects of sustainability, interdisciplinary work, telecommunications, and planetary health are also incorporated. At the end, a joint solution is developed (principle of the “inverted classroom”).
As part of our interdisciplinary collaboration with Furtwangen University, we invite Prof. Dr. Richter to one of our sessions to jointly reflect on the aspects of evidence-based physical therapy treatment.
