This elective is designed for students in the second cycle of their studies who are preparing for a stay abroad (e.g., clinical rotation, semester abroad, clinical internship) or who wish to improve their communication skills when interacting with English-speaking patients in a German healthcare setting. A B2 level of English is recommended.

Description:
This elective course teaches practical, subject-specific English with a focus on primary care. Topics covered include the various stages of a primary care consultation in English—such as taking a medical history, performing a physical examination, and completing medical documentation—as well as general communication exercises in a primary care setting, using practical case studies and role-playing in a relaxed atmosphere. 

Assessment:
Performance is assessed through an oral medical consultation conducted in English.
