Trinational Extracellular Vesicles Day in Freiburg

Prof. Irina Nazarenko's Extracellular Vesicles research group at the Medical Center – University of Freiburg is holding for the third year in a row the Freiburg EV Day. This year, we will extend our invitation to the Dreyeckland and stage this interactive event on Friday, 23rd October 2026. The venue is the Zentrum Translationale Zellforschung - ZTZ (ground floor), located at Breisacher Straße 115, 79106 Freiburg, Germany.
We warmly invite scientists from all stages of their research careers, including principal investigators, senior and junior group leaders, postdoctoral researchers, clinical scientists, technicians, PhD and MD students, and representatives of the local industry who are involved in any aspect of EV research and development. The meeting's scope includes:
- cell biology, signal transduction and EVs
- molecular mechanisms of EV biogenesis and function
- liquid biopsies and biomarkers
- methods for EV isolation from different biofluids
- methods development
- EV biomimetics
- therapeutic EVs
- drug delivery and lipid-based nanoparticles (LNPs)
- mathematical and computational modelling for EVs.
This meeting will be a great opportunity to meet colleagues from the trinational border region of Switzerland, France and Germany interested in EVs, to establish collaborations, to expand awareness about EV research and its possibilities, and to foster social interactions among participants. We are committed to contributing to the scientific and deep technology communities, we are eager to share insights and learn from one another to accelerate all our research efforts.
In line with the recipe of our 2024 and 2025 EV meetings, we want to give many participants the chance to introduce themselves in the form of flash talks and posters. We look forward to hosting you and to fruitful discussions.

On the map of the Medical Center – University of Freiburg (https://www.uniklinik-freiburg.de/fileadmin/mediapool-zentral/Lageplaene_Standard/Zentralklinikum.pdf), the venue is marked with E5. The entrance is on the northeastern side, facing toward the IMITATE building (E6). From the Robert-Koch-Straße tram stop, stairs and a ramp both lead down to the entrance and to bicycle stands. For car parking, we recommend the parking structure between building E3 and the line 4 Kilianstr. tram stop. Deliveries can come all the way to the ZTZ building.
