Psychology of Infection Prevention

Dr. Anneke Haddad investigates the psychology of infection prevention, with a particular focus on health literacy and behaviour change in the context of infectious diseases. Her research explores questions such as:

  • What role does health literacy play in infection prevention and control?
  • What do members of the general public understand about appropriate and inappropriate antibiotic use, especially for children?
  • How do infections and infection prevention measures affect psychological wellbeing?
  • How can we leverage insights from psychology and behaviour change to improve infection prevention and control?
  • How can participatory approaches to health research improve outcomes and ensure that research questions and findings are relevant to affected individuals and communities?
