Research Data Management

The Research Data Management Workgroup addresses the challenges of generating, managing, contextualizing, and sharing research data in an increasingly machine-driven research environment. High-quality research data are a fundamental prerequisite for biomedical applications of artificial intelligence (AI), making precise and comprehensive data annotation more important than ever.
Our work focuses on developing AI-based solutions for extracting, enriching, and repurposing metadata while safeguarding and improving their accuracy and reliability. We contribute this expertise to several Collaborative Research Centres (CRCs), where we support researchers in generating high-quality metadata and help ensure that research data are findable, accessible, interoperable, and reusable (FAIR).
