Our research data platform "fredato", which is still in operation, is used for the storage of data as well as for the convenient collaboration of research groups. It is currently available to all projects supported by us, but can also be used in other departments of the Medical Faculty upon request.

We openly offer the electronic lab book elabFTW, which is available to all supported projects, but also to all interested groups of the Faculty of Medicine. This is operated in two instances: one within the university with access from the open internet, one within the firewall of the university hospital. On the latter, documentation of materials relevant to data protection, e.g. from the patient file, is possible. Furthermore, a test and training instance is available.

For the electronic Case Report Form REDCap we operate a test and training instance (but the instances for data collection run exclusively in the Center for Clinical Studies).

Trainings / Workshops

Research Data Management regularly offers workshops on fixed dates on the topic of research data management in general (formats 1h, 2h, 4h, 8h) and on our platform fredato. Dates are sent out via the newsletter of the Medical Faculty of the Albert-Ludwigs-University of Freiburg.

On request, we offer short introductions to the electronic laboratory book elabFTW.

In student teaching, we participate with a lecture in the course Wissenschaftliches Denken und Handeln II (link Ilias Teaching - german).

Registration is done by contacting us via rdm@uniklinik-freiburg.de. If there is interest or need, an individual appointment for larger groups can be offered on request.

In cooperation with the Center for Clinical Studies (ZKS) we support the use of the software Research Electronic Data Capture (REDCap) and offer trainings on a regular basis or on request of large groups (information on the Uniklinik Intranet). In addition to the digital capture of study data and the implementation of online questionnaires, REDCap is also suitable for research data management in smaller projects.
