IT Systems

Our research data platform “fredato” helps research groups to share data and collaborate freely. Currently, it is a the service of all projects we support but can just as well be implemented anywhere within the Faculty of Medicine.

We offer the electronic lab notebook eLabFTW to the projects we support but also to all interested groups with the Faculty of Medicine. There are two instances: one operates from the university network, allowing access through the internet, the other is confined to within the firewall of the university medical centre. The latter can be used for processing sensitive data, e.g. patient information. In addition to these, there is also an instance reserved for testing and training purposes.

We operate a testing and training instance of the research electronic data capture software REDCap. Please note that production-level instances are exclusively hosted by the Centre for Clinical Studies.

Training / Workshops

The Research Data Management Workgroup offers training in the area of research data management in general and fredato in particular.

Upon request we offer brief introductions to the electronic lab notebook eLabFTW.

We also offer GitLab training for all levels of expertise and focused on specific areas of application (e.g. data management or software development).

We are involved in university teaching by contributing to the course “Scientific Thought and Practice”.
