Center for Neuro-Oncology
Dear patient!
To ensure that our patients with brain tumors receive optimal treatment, we at the Department of Neurosurgery collaborate closely with other specialist disciplines, such as the Department of Radiation Oncology and Hematology/Oncology. In addition to operative methods – including novel microsurgical methods – we offer chemotherapy and participation in clinical trials. We discuss the best possible therapy with our colleagues from other specialist disciplines at an interdisciplinary brain tumor conference and with you. Find out more

Training für Hirntumorpatient*innen
The Psychosocial Cancer Counseling Service at the Tumor Center Freiburg currently offers training for brain tumor patients who have difficulties in their daily lives after surgery and/or radiation. The oncological treatment can, for example, impair perception, thinking or action planning.
The neuropsychological training is based on a scientifically founded therapy approach. It consists of 9 modules and takes place once a week. Important everyday skills such as problem solving, memory, concentration and strategies to better control emotions are trained. If you are interested in participating, please make an appointment for a preliminary talk with Dr. Freitag, Tel: +49 761 270-77510.
The training is also offered in English and Spanish.
