Center for Thoracic Tumors with Lung Cancer Center
Dear patients!
Diagnosis and therapy of thoracic and lung tumors are complex. That is why specialists from several disciplines work together at the Center for Thoracic Tumors with Lung Cancer Center. The Freiburg Lung Cancer Center was one of the first to be certified by the German Cancer Society in 2009.
Lung cancer is one of the most frequent causes of cancer-related deaths. In recent years, however, a number of novel therapies have been developed that have led to a significant improvement in survival rates for the first time in a long time. To achieve the best results in this area, it is important to cooperate closely with all the disciplines involved. In addition, we always offer the latest therapies within the framework of studies. Should you be eligible for a corresponding study, we will discuss the pros and cons with you in detail.
At ZTT, we naturally also treat metastases of other types of cancer in the lung as well as tumors of the chest wall, pleura and mediastinum according to the latest and highest standards.
We are a center of the Nationales Netzwerks Genomische Medizin Lungenkrebs.

We are a German Cancer Society–certified lung cancer center. You can therefore rest assured that you will receive the best possible treatment as a patient. There are three fundamental options for therapy of thoracic tumors: surgery, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy. We have a department devoted to each of them:
