Cardiac Autoregulation 2026

05–07 October 2026 – Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany

It is a great pleasure to invite you to the international workshop Homogeneity out of Heterogeneity: Experimental and Theoretical Research into Cardiac Autoregulation held from 05–07 October 2026 in Freiburg, Germany.

The workshop will explore a seemingly simple, yet remarkably challenging concept – namely how the externally uniform performance of the heart arises from spatially and temporally heterogeneous activity of cells and tissue constituents at nano-, micro-, and macro-scales.

The programme will be single-track and designed ‘to tell a story’ by going from macroscopic phenomena to molecular mechanisms. It will include 5 high-level plenary talks by internationally established research leaders, and 21 invited lectures. This will be complemented by a dedicated poster session, and all poster contributions will be on display throughout the meeting (Poster board dimensions (portrait only): 120 cm (47.2") wide x 150 cm (59.0") high).

Confirmed Keynote Speakers:

Natalia Trayanova (Johns Hopkins University, USA)
