Ana Simón Chica, MSc

Scientific Assistant (Mechanobiology, Optogenetics)

Research Interests:

  • Heterocellular electrophysiological interactions of cardiac immune cells both in steady-state and in the patho-physiological context
  • Integrated wet-and-dry studies of cardiac electrophysiology function

Brief CV:

Ana studied Biomedical Engineering at the University Carlos III of Madrid (2013-2017). During her bachelor thesis she started to work on the development of computational models to represent the electrophysiological variability between patients with atrial fibrillation. The results of this project allowed her to obtain a first research grant (Santander CRUE CEPYME) in the Laboratory of Translational Research of the Cardiology department at the Hospital Gregorio Marañón of Madrid in 2017. In September 2017 she joined the IEKM as a scientific assistant while she is also completing a Master's degree in Biomedical Engineering.
