Dr.-Ing. cand. Eike Wülfers

Doctoral researcher (Computational Modelling)

Research Interests:

  • Computational and numerical modelling of cardiac electrophysiology
  • Modelling of heterocellular coupling and substrate modifications in the heart
  • Numerical methods for electrical field calculations
  • Parallel computing

Brief CV:

Eike Moritz Wülfers studied Electrical Engineering and Information Technology at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). For his Bachelor’s thesis, he studied microstructural remodelling of ventricular myocytes after myocardial infarction at the Institute of Biomedical Engineering (IBT) at KIT and the Cardiovascular Research and Training Institute (CVRTI, University of Utah) (2011-2012). He went on to receive a Master’s degree from KIT after working on parallel computing and numerical methods for cardiac excitation propagation simulations (2016). Eike Moritz Wülfers joined the IEKM in Freiburg as a PhD student in the Computational Modelling section in 2016.
