Rehabilitation Research

Responsibilities within the Institute

The Section Health Care Research conducts rehabilitation science studies that deal with the effectiveness of rehabilitative interventions, quality assurance in medical rehabilitation and interventions to improve occupational and social participation.

Selected projects

  • The WIPSOR project is a multi-centre longitudinal study with a waiting-control group design in which the effectiveness of psychosomatic rehabilitation is analysed. Patients are surveyed with questionnaires at up to 12 measurement points.

  • Can the administrative effort currently involved in the quality assurance of medical rehabilitation through time-consuming prospective data collection be reduced by routine data from the health insurance funds? Or is it necessary in order to take into account the specifics of rehabilitation? This is what the SEQUAR project is investigating.

  • The project Updating rehabilitation therapy standards uses literature research, consensus procedures and empirical analyses of current service provision to update therapy standards for medical rehabilitation that are used in the German Pension Insurance system.
